How does the AutoBidder decide when exactly to place my Bids?
AutoBidders are designed to be as cost-efficient as possible when bidding. That’s why they wait until the last few seconds of an auction before placing bids on your behalf.
When there are two or more AutoBidders set on the same auction, they alternate placing their bids until one comes out on top. Please note that a bid placed by AutoBidder has the same effect as placing a bid manually.
You’ll want to remember a few things about using AutoBidder:
• You’ll need to allocate at least two bids when setting an AutoBidder: otherwise you might as well just use the single bid option
• Your maximum price must be above or below the current end price.
• Once the bidding has reached the ‘Minimum Price’ at which you instructed your AutoBidder to start bidding, you can no longer cancel your bids.
How do I cancel a AutoBidder?
Provided the auction hasn’t reached your AutoBidder’s ‘Minimum Price’ threshold, you can click “My AutoBidder” from the top menu and then select “My BidBuddies” on the left side. Cancel your BidBuddy by clicking ‘Delete’ next to the appropriate AutoBidder listing.
Why did the auction end before my ‘Maximum Price’ was reached?
Remember we mentioned AutoBidders are designed to be frugal? Well, in order to control the spending of your AutoBidder, they are told to use no more bids than the ‘Number of Bids to Use’ value you assign. If it hits the spending limit (in number of bids) then no more bids are placed, even if the current price is below your ‘Maximum Price’ value.
What happens to AutoBidder bids that don´t get used?
Bids used by your AutoBidders are deducted from your account as they are used. Note that this may result in some AutoBidders not functioning if another AutoBidder ‘spends’ all of your available bids. Always make sure to have enough bids stocked up in your account to fulfill the mission of each of your AutoBidders.
Simply enter the Bid From amount ( the amount you want to start you’re Autobidder) and the " Bid To" amount ( the amount you want Autobidder to stop bidding. Then enter the " # of bids" which is the number of bids you want to use during your bidding process and you are set to go. You do not have to be in front of the computer to bid on an auction. Let AutoBidder do the work for you.
Bidexcel runs some of the fastest servers available to ensure minimal lag time. If you are experiancing lag, or slow bidding times then we recommend you close all applications that are connected to the web. For example any P2P software you might be running e.g. iTunes. These programs should be closed. Ultimatley we reccomend you use a High speed internet connection with a minimum being DSL. If you are still using Dialup Internet service we suggest you upgrade before placing bids on our website.
Bidexcel recommends Firefox as the best supported browser to use on our website.
We often get asked by people how to improve their chances of winning an auction on Bidexcel.
There’s no "sure-fire" winning strategy, but here are a few tips to help you get started, as well as a few of the traps that novice bidders sometimes fall into.
Place your bid late
Watch the countdown and try to jump in and bid in the last few seconds. If the timer has reached the last few seconds, you know that it will end unless another bid is placed. (Don’t leave it too late though, or you might miss out)
Start with the cheapest products
Although you can get some incredible bargains on our most expensive items, they also tend to be the most competitive auctions, attracting hundreds of bidders. Our cheaper products tend to have fewer bidders, meaning you’re much more likely to win.
Use the AutoBidder to your advantage
The AutoBidder is a powerful tool, if you get the timing right you can scare off other bidders by placing one. Nobody likes to see their bids matched over and over again by your all conquering AutoBidder, you might just persuade them to give up and try again next time.
Turn their AutoBidder against them
On the other hand, some people have a ‘fire and forget’ policy with the AutoBidder. It is easy to get in and win with a quick single bid if your rival has gone to make a cup of coffee safe in the knowledge that their AutoBidder will protect them.
We’ve noticed that users tend to set the ‘Bid To’ value of their AutoBidder to a round number, so watch out for this and you might be able to snap up a bargain by simply clicking on the “Bid” button when a AutoBidder has just finished.
Keep an eye on what other bidders are up to
You can see the details of the last ten bids placed: try to work out who’s bidding and when they’re bidding. It’s all about timing, so maybe you can work out when the right time is to jump in and grab the lot.
Scout out the competition
Look and see how many different bidders have recently bid on an auction. You’re more likely to win if there are fewer bidders interested in the item than if there are lots of competing bidders.
Bid at the right time of day
The number of bidders varies throughout the day – smart bidders can use this to pick up bargains by bidding when others are busy having breakfast or taking the dog for a walk.
Fine-tune your AutoBidder
If you use the AutoBidder to bid on your behalf, it’s best not to set your ‘Bid To’ value to a round number.
You can buy bids safely via PayPal at the moment although we are continually looking at other options.
We've created “My Account” for registered users so that you can keep track of all the auctions you’ve bid on that are still running, as well as those you’ve asked to watch.
Simply click on 'My Account' and select 'My auctions' for all auctions that you have placed a bid on, or 'My Watched Auctions' for auctions that you want to watch.
You can view the bids that you've placed most recently under 'Bid history' on the right hand side of the auction detail page, just under the AutoBidder section,
You can see a full bid history under Bid Account ('My Account' -> 'Account' -> 'Bid account') by clicking on the '+' sign alongside every auction.
To see who's bidding on an auction, just look under 'Bid history' to see a list of the most recent bidders on that auction and the type of bid they placed.
You can see the AutoBidder bids that you have booked on a specific item on the auction detail page. Simply click on the 'My Autobidder' tab next to the 'Book AutoBidder' tab.
To see all of your currently planned AutoBidders across all auctions, go to 'My AutoBidders' under 'My Account-> 'Auctions'. Remember, you will only see planned Autobidders here and not Autobidder bids already placed.
You may have been out-bid very quickly. This can happen if there are many bidders or if there is another user's AutoBidder bidding on the auction too. You might not see this simply because other bids have been placed within a few seconds of each other - sometimes even within the same second!
To help you make your bidding more effective, here are some tips:
Congratulations on your win! Once auction has ended you’ll be automatically transferred to a page where we will ask you to confirm the item you have won.
Once confirmed, we will contact you by e-mail to explain how you can redeem any vouchers you may have and pay any outstanding amounts owed. You just need to remember to confirm and pay for the item within 7 days of the auction ending.
Paying for the item you’ve won is just as easy as paying for your bids, you can pay for your item via PayPal. Please make sure that you pay within 7 days of the end of the auction. Depending on our supplier we will confirm your payment via e-mail and arrange for the item to be shipped to you, a tracking # will be sent to your registered email address so you can track the progress of your shipment on our couriers website. If the item hasn’t arrived within 14 days of our confirmation of your payment, please contact us.
If you choose not to confirm or fail to confirm within 7 days, we will assume that you’ve changed your mind and no longer want to buy the item. In either case you will NOT be refunded your bids.
We may pause some or all auctions at a specific time, typically 12AM GMT. The auctions will resume the following morning at 7AM GMT. The only auctions that we do not pause are "Night Auctions", those run 24 hours a day.

* Bids cost £0.45 when purchasing Bid Pack XL.
A penny auction is when the price of the auction will increase/decrease by a penny (1p) for every bid placed.
Night Time auctions are auctions which run 24 hours a day until the auction ends.
The 100% off auction is an auction where the user will not pay the final auction price. So for example if you win a Nintendo Wii with a final price of £50 you would pay £0 (100% of the final price)
We occasionally give away different types of vouchers to make your Bidexcel bargains even better value. Here’s an overview of some of the different vouchers that are available:
Vouchers for new customers
As our special way of saying hello we may give our new customers a Welcome voucher. Welcome vouchers can be redeemed against the final price of an auction that you've won, not against the purchase of BidPacks, or delivery charges. Welcome vouchers can only be used up to their expiry date.
Vouchers linked to special offers
We sometimes give away other vouchers, for example during “happy hours” on the site. These vouchers may have specific restrictions and always have an expiry date.
Redeeming your vouchers
Once you've won an auction, you'll automatically be transferred to a confirmation page where you'll be able to enter your voucher code. Don't forget to redeem your voucher, as once you've confirmed your win you'll no longer be able to use it. Please note, that if you use a voucher with a value that exceeds the auction end price, the remaining voucher credit will expire.
Countdown Auction
A Countdown Auction has a timer which shows how much time remains until the auction closes. Each time you bid on an item, the price is increased/decreased by up to eight pence (£0.07). When the timer hits zero, the auction closes and if you were the last bidder you win the item.
Lowest Unique Auction
A Lowest Unique Auction relies on you entering a price you think will be lowest and unique. Each time you enter a bid you will be notified whether your bid was:
If your bid is the lowest unique bid at the time, the system will display your userID as the current lowest unique bidder but not the amount you have bid.
Pick a Price
Pick a Price allows you to choose the price you would like to pay for the item. Each time you click 'Show Price' the current price will be revealed for 5 seconds. The 'Show Price' button will also change to 'Buy Now' allowing you to purchase the item at the revealed price during this time.
Each time the 'Show Price' button is clicked the price will reduce, usually by £0.07 so the only choice you need to make is whether to buy it now or wait for the price to drop even further.
Remember each time 'Show Price' is clicked a bid is registered against your account.
Hit Price Auction
Hit Price requires you to match the revealed price to a predetermined guaranteed discounted prices, over 50% lower than the RRP. Each time 'Show Price' is clicked the price will drop by a predetermined amount and will be displayed for 5 seconds. The auction will automatically stop if your revealed prices matches or is below the 'Set Price'.
Remember each time 'Show Price' is clicked a bid is registered against your account.
Penny Auction
In a penny auction, the price increases / decreases by just one pence with each bid placed (whereas in a normal auction, it rises by up to £0.07).
NailBiter Auction
This requires you to stay on your toes, so to speak. AutoBidder functionality is disabled so its just you against the rest. Will you be the one? If you are the last bidder when the clock hits zero then you will be.
Beginner Auction
This is for you if you are new to Bidexcel and yet to win an auction. You can only bid on one Beginner Auction at a time and only until you win your first auction.
Open Auction
Open Auctions are open to all even if you've reached your eight auction limit. Open auctions do not count towards your auction limit if you win. See 'How many auctions can I win a month?' for more information.
10-Second Auction
All auctions start as 10-second auctions. The countdown increases by a maximum of 10 seconds each time a bid is placed in the final 10 seconds.
15-Second Auction
With these the countdown increases by a maximum of 15 seconds each time a bid is placed in the final 15 seconds.
20-Second Auction
You guessed it – with these the countdown increases by a maximum of 20 seconds each time a bid is placed in the final 20 seconds.
Fixed Price Auction
If you win a Fixed Price Auction, you only pay the price indicated in the heading of the auction (plus delivery costs), regardless of the final price showing
100% off
If you win an auction marked '100% off', you pay zero, nothing, nada!!! regardless of the final price showing. That’s right the price is zero! You just need to pay any delivery charges.
You can watch an auction if you click on "Watch auction" in the top right hand corner of an auction detail page. The list of all watched auctions you'll find in "My Bidexcel> Auctions" under "Watched Auctions".
There are several different ways to find items on Bidexcel. Here are a few different ways of looking at the different auctions on Bidexcel:
Live Auctions
Click on the 'Live Auctions' link in the top menu area and you will see all running auctions in the category you are currently in.
Categories
Click on the 'Categories' drop down and you will see all live auctions running within each category.
Ended auctions
To have a look at all auctions that have ended, click on 'Our Latest Winners' and - you'll see a list of all the auctions that have ended, along with the price that they sold for and the very happy winners.
The auction end criteria varies with auction type. We recommend you check each auction individually to understand the criteria upon which it will end.
For illustration, auctions could end on a timer reaching zero, the number of bids required to end being reached, customer selecting buy, price being hit etc.
Auction end price / Final price
The auction end price / Final price is the price at which the auction ended. Only the winner of the auction can buy the item at that price. Sometimes there are special offers available on an auction such as such as "100% off", " Fixed price", etc. - again, these only apply to the winner of the auction.
Worth up to price
The worth up to price is provided as an indication of the price for which this product could be bought on the high street.
Our products are shipped by our partners. To make sure you get your items as quickly as possible pay the final auction price promptly (for auctions that are not 100% off auctions of course - for these you just need to confirm your won auction as normal).
If you still haven’t received your product or tracking number and it has been over 5 days since you paid for your item, please contact our customer service team. Most of our items are shipped directly from our suppliers and will be sent soon after you have paid.
We can deliver the item you've won to anywhere in the United Kingdom and Ireland to the address you registered with and/or registered with your payment type. We are unable to deliver to PO Box addresses.
Bidexcel reserves the right to ask for additional identification if required, before shipping a winning item.
Firstly, we’re sorry that you have received an item that you are not happy with. Most of our winners have no problems with the goods, but occasionally an item might not work or may get damaged in transit. If this has happened, our aim is to solve your problem as quickly as possible.
It can sometimes be useful to check the manufacturer’s website or call their helpline – many of the most common problems are easily solved without having to return the product.
In the event that the product you received is faulty, please contact us and we’ll tell you what to do next. Please, let us know the auction ID and the serial number of the product, as these help us to deal with your problem more quickly.
We work with a range of different suppliers who are happy to help identify any problems and to replace faulty items, if necessary.
Please don’t send the item back to us without contacting us – this is likely to mean that it takes longer to replace your item. If your product does need replacing, we’ll contact you and let you know what to do
The warranties provided on goods may vary depending on the type of item that you win. Please contact our customer service team if you have any queries about the warranties or guarantees that apply to an item that you’ve won. Most of the items sold come with manufactures warranty.
We will always assist you should you receive a product that is defective.
We want you to enjoy the item you won, but if, for whatever reason you decide that you do not want the item, please get in touch with our customer service team and we’ll explain what to do next. When you contact us, please make sure that you let us know:
Please note that we can only offer a refund on the final auction price of the item you won as well as shipping costs. However, we cannot offer you a refund on the cost of the bids that you placed on that auction.
You can participate in Bidexcel's auctions with nearly all PCs and selected mobile devices that allow you to access the internet:

Very occasionally, users tell us that even though they bid before the countdown ended, their bids did not get placed and the auction ends. In these instances, the most likely explanation is so-called "Internet lag times". These are time-delays in the transfer of data between your PC and our servers. Mostly those delays (lags) occur because single parts of the internet connection are overloaded.
This, unfortunately, is a general problem with the internet.
There are a few ways of helping minimize this problem:
We're very sorry if your bid wasn't registered by the AutoBidder in time. To be absolutely certain that you avoid the problem of "Internet lag times" don't leave your bidding until literally the last second or you can use the Autobidder to place your bids.
It may be that your email program shows the link in your registration mail as faulty. If this happens, just copy the complete link in to the address line of your internet browser and press 'Enter'. If this doesn't work, please get in touch with our customer service team, letting us know the email address that you used to register.

Downtime, or outage, is an occasional and unforeseeable problem with the internet and means that bids cannot be placed during this short period if we are offline. If we experience downtime at any point, we return to where we left off so that our bidders are not left at a disadvantage. It is impossible to place any bids whilst the system is experiencing downtime so any bids attempted during this period will not be debited from your account. If this situation does occur, we advise you to refresh your screen regularly, either by pressing F5 or the refresh button on your browser.
Responsible Bidding
Online purchasing activities are becoming increasingly popular as they become recognized as a fun and exciting way of purchasing. Our intention is that Biexcel.com is used in this way. We take our responsibility towards helping our customers to have positive experiences using our site very seriously.
At Bidexcel, we understand that there is a risk, albeit a remote one, that taking part in time-critical auctions can lead to personal and social distress. This can occur if a customer spends an excessive amount of time on the site, reducing the time they spend with family and friends. In this regard, Bidexcel assumes a responsibility to provide relevant information to ensure that bidding in an auction contributes to the customer’s experience in a positive way.
Please take time to observe the following guidelines:
